GRP can be supplied with different resin systems depending on the chemical environment, concentration and temperature. Use this overview as guidance when selecting materials for grating, structural profiles and GRP structures.
The table applies to molded grating. Its values cannot automatically be transferred to other products or material constructions. Suitability for structural profiles and other GRP structures requires a separate assessment.
What affects chemical resistance?
The resin system, concentration and temperature must be considered together with exposure time, chemical mixtures and other operating conditions. The same chemical may impose different requirements at different temperatures and concentrations.
ALL = all concentrations · SAT = saturated solution · N/R = not recommended · — = no value given in the source.

Tabellen bygger på teknisk produktdokumentasjon. Temperaturverdiene er oppgitt i °C.
Unsure which resin system to choose?
Send us the chemical, concentration and operating temperature, and we can help assess a suitable GRP solution.
Request a technical assessmentFrequently asked questions
Can GRP withstand salt water?
The source includes a sea water row. Use the values for the relevant resin system and have the operating conditions assessed; sea water data does not replace documentation for other salt solutions.
How do Vinyl Ester and Isophthalic differ?
They are different resin systems. The table shows that concentrations and temperature limits vary by system and chemical. Select the system for the actual exposure.
Why does temperature matter?
The source limits are tied to temperature. Suitability at one temperature does not automatically establish suitability at a higher temperature.
Can GRP be used in chemical plants?
Assess the chemicals, concentrations, temperature, loads and documented product construction. The table is a starting point for that assessment.
What if a chemical is missing?
No match means this source provides no data. Send us the chemical and operating conditions. Missing limits are not calculated or inferred.
Can the table be used for chemical mixtures?
Values for individual substances do not document suitability for mixtures. Mixtures and changing operating conditions require a separate assessment.
