Test rig for fall protection for ZAFE AS
ZAFE AS received a custom fiberglass rig for demonstrating and testing fall protection equipment. The solution was designed around the customer’s training hall and practical requirements.
At Glassfiber Produkter, we are proud every time we get to take a customer need from idea to finished solution - and the project with ZAFE is one of those we are very pleased with. The result is a custom-made fiberglass test platform, designed to allow ZAFE to test fall protection equipment in a safe and realistic way.
The need we were presented with
ZAFE runs courses and training in areas such as forklift, crane and construction machinery operator courses, and needed a solution to demonstrate and test fall protection equipment in practice. The equipment and rig had to withstand repeated use without compromising safety.
When ZAFE presented this need, it was exactly the type of challenge we like to solve. ZAFE had good control over their own needs and knew exactly what they needed from us, which made our job easier and the process efficient from the start.
The solution we designed and manufactured
- We designed and manufactured a platform customized for ZAFE's training hall, built to withstand the daily use a fall protection test rig requires.
- The solution is composed of gratings as a cover, profiles in the construction and safety bars on the ladder – all in fiberglass.
- The material is lightweight and yet strong enough to withstand the daily use a fall protection test rig requires inside the hall.
- Today, the solution is part of ZAFE's facilities, and is used to demonstrate and test fall protection equipment for course participants.
The weight was actually crucial for the solution. The rig was to hang from the ceiling beams and on the wall in the hall, and that makes demands – the ceiling beams are calculated based on snow load.

From need to finished solution
We are proud of how smooth the process was: ZAFE presented its needs with great precision, and we designed and manufactured the solution.

Both ZAFE and we at Glassfiber Produkter AS are located in Klepp, and this collaboration is a project we are extra proud of having been able to solve locally – from idea and needs, to a finished, tailor-made solution in use.
For us, this is a good example of what we can contribute: tailor-made solutions in fiberglass, delivered by a supplier that is easy to work with. We listen to the need and find the solution – we make it easier with fiberglass.
