GRP Platform delivered to Volvo excavator
Glassfiber Produkter designed, prefabricated and installed a GRP platform for a Volvo excavator intended for use on a boat. The platform is built from structural profiles and gratings.
The excavator will be used on a boat, and there was a need for a robust platform on the side of the cab. Glassfiber Produkter has been responsible for both the design, prefabrication and assembly of the solution. The platform is designed to withstand demanding conditions at sea, where it will be continuously exposed to seawater.
The choice of fiberglass as a material is ideal in this environment, as it neither corrodes nor is affected by moisture and salt. The solution combines high strength with low weight, and is built up with structural profiles and gratings which provides both stability and good drainage. This makes the platform particularly well suited for areas with high stress and harsh operating conditions.
